Showcase Team Goal

Continue to develop our players in a league program designed to foster players who want a higher level of competitiveness.
Provide a program for the players to have more coaching, playing and developmental time that the Rec season typically does not offer.
Provide an environment that prepares players for travel softball. 
Reduce erosion of players to other area softball programs.
Provide a team that allows multi-sport athletes the flexibility to play other sports.

All-Star Team Structure
The All-Star Showcase league will have four age divisions. 
Age is determined as of Dec. 31, 2022. 
8U: Age 7, 8  
10U:  Age 9, 10
12U:  Age 11, 12
14U:  Age 13,14

Advantage is that players will be more prepared to be competitive in the summer all-star tournaments.

Tryout is required for placement on a team. Participation is open to girls from FISHERS-HSE only.

Tryouts will be on August 17th and August 18th at 6 p.m.

Additional All Star teams will be formed in the spring of 2023.

Teams will play recreational softball and play in alliance Sundays in spring and All-Star tournaments in the summer.

Teams cannot schedule Sunday alliance games that conflict with the Fall Rec Softball schedule.

All players must participate in Mudsock Youth rec softball.  

Practices will be once per week.

What to Expect?

Registration will begin in July 2022 at

Mudsock Youth Softball teams participate against other All-Star league teams much like the regular REC league program. Teams typically practice once a week through the winter.

  • Teams are formed in September.
  • Teams play Spring Alliance and end with Summer All Star Tournaments.
  • Coaches are given catcher's gear and heart guard for team use.
  • Parent information Q and A meeting will be held August 10th at 7:00pm at the Olio Field Concession stand.
  • Coaches are volunteers and will be selected via interview process.

The cost is $100 per player to register. This will only be charged once the player has received an offer and accepted a spot on the team.  This covers insurance and administrative fees for the Mudsock Youth Athletics program. The remaining funds will be provided to the team to start a fund to help pay for use of indoor facility, Alliance games and tournaments additional funds maybe needed and will be communicated by coaches as teams are self-funded.

Provided by League:

The league will provide Catching gear and insurance. The League will pay a portion of the fees associated with the rental of the indoor facility during winter months. Players will be required to have a glove, bat, batting helmet and facemask for infield play.

Refund Policy:

If refund request is made prior to that seasons team assignments - 100% Refund of League Fee minus the current non-refundable processing fee of $32.

If refund request is made prior to first game – 50% Refund of League Fee minus the current non-refundable processing fee of $32

If request is made after first alliance game – No refund


All-Star FAQ's

How many teams are typically in each age group?
8U, 1- 10U, 1- 12U and possibly 1-14U Showcase team will be formed. Additional teams will be formed in the Spring after the rec season begins.

What is a typical schedule?
Teams typically practice 1 time per week September through July. All outdoor practices are at Olio Fields and local school fields.  All indoor practices are at our indoor facility in Fortville. Most teams play Spring Alliance on Sundays beginning in April.

Alliance Sundays are doubleheaders at various locations around central Indiana. The tournament season begins when spring rec ends in mid-June. Teams typically play 4-5 All-Star Tournaments from mid-June to end of July.

What is the typical cost per player?
Typical cost per player is around $250 + uniforms (approx. $100).  Total cost per player will depend on how many tournaments each team play’s and final cost of indoor facility use. Teams may get sponsorships and coordinate team fundraising to offset cost.

What equipment is needed?
All players are expected to provide their own face mask, helmet, glove and bat.  Catchers are expected to provide their own gear if possible.  

How many players are typically on each team?
Players are typically on each age groups roster. Coaches can decide to roster less if they choose.

Are there rules on playing time?
We encourage coaches to develop players to play multiple positions. While keeping player safety as a priority. We encourage coaches to spread playing time as equally as possible, but some specialty position players may see more playing time than others.

Why do players have to play Spring Rec Softball?
These are Rec All-Star teams put together with rec players. The showcase teams are to give players looking to move to next level competition as they transition to travel softball. If you’re not interested in playing rec softball than please tryout for our Cats Travel Softball program.
